Thresholds: A site specific installation made in response to the sea-side architecture of St Leonards-on-Sea. It comprises a series of openings which refer to buildings constructed for worship, entertainment and habitation.

The piece springs from an exploration of James Burton's concept of a tailor-made holiday resort, with architecture that reflected his grand vision. 

Our ideas of the seaside and what it means to us are in flux, and this project is part of my ongoing exploration into the public and private spaces we build, inhabit and negotiate.
